There will be an auction of selected works to raise money for Maori Primary
School in Zimbabwe. Bids will be accepted throughout the exhibition and the
auction will close on Sunday July 21 at 3 p.m.

Shona D’Afrique IX is the 9th annual outdoor exhibition of Shona sculpture held at Centennial Park, a public park on the shores of Lac St. Louis in Beaconsfield, on the West Island of Montreal. The exhibition is hosted by the City of Beaconsfield through their Cultural Services department.

Admission to Shona D’Afrique IX is free. Donations to ZimArt-in-Trust towards building Maori Primary School in Zimbabwe would be much appreciated.

The Shona D’Afrique series has become a much anticipated art-in-the-park experience for visitors from all over the West Island, Montreal and beyond.  Being in a public park with recreational and picnic facilities makes the exhibition an ideal outing for the family. Over 150 sculptures, created by thirty artists, are displayed under the trees with the lake as the backdrop. Simon Chidharara, ZimArt’s 2013 artist-in-residence, will be present throughout the show, sculpting and talking about his work and that of his fellow artists.
